DESCRIPTION:Letter of invitation \nDear Colleagues\, \nI am happy to invite you to the next ECCO Congress 2019 that will be held in Copenhagen\, Denmark on March 6-9\, 2019. This will be the 14th Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation. Copenhagen is a city full of contrast\, where the oldest Monarchy of Europe and top modernity meet\, where there are more bikes than cars and where vanguard architecture coexists in perfect harmony with fascinating old buildings. It is located in a country where significant medical research is being made and where the ECCO Congress is in an environment that embraces new methods and research while holding on to well established knowledge and traditions. \nAlready in 2014 Copenhagen hosted a very successful ECCO Congress and it is with great anticipation that we return to the city and to the Bella Center. In the last few years ECCO congress has become THE major IBD meeting in the world attracting over 6500 participants\, offering possibilities for nurses\, dietitians\, surgeons\, gastroenterologists and physicians in the area of IBD to exchange knowledge and participate in a growing spectrum of educational courses and masterclasses. ECCO reaches out to young clinicians and scientists as well and offers an international platform across and beyond Europe to achieve an improvement in the care of patients with IBD in all its aspects. \nThe main theme of the congress will be “research drives clinical care” as we are witnessing major breakthroughs of innovation due to new drugs hitting the clinic for our patients and many new personalized approaches for individual patient treatments. \nThe congress sessions are focused on the present best practice for adult IBD patients\, include pediatric and surgical lectures\, and highlight the trends for patient management. As challenges in the future of IBD are quickly approaching\, now more than ever research must strive for best clinical care. A fő témák között szerepel a gasztroenterológia\, nefrológia\, kardiológia\, hipertónia\, anyagcsere betegségek\, diabétesz\, endokrinológia\, haematológia\, onkológia. \nA fenti témákhoz csatlakozó\, valamint szabadon választott előadások\, poszterek jelenthetők be. Az összefoglalókat elektronikus úton lehet beküldeni. A végleges program ezek figyelembe vételével kerül összeállításra.\nA szakma kiválóságai tartanak „state of art” előadásokat\, referátumokat. DESCRIPTION:Scientific Programme \nUEG Week is the place to be for clinicians and researchers.\nThe scientific programme includes all aspects of our specialty\, ranging from basic science to clinical practice guidelines. For UEG Week 2018 in Vienna\, a world class faculty will gather to present newest research as well as state-of-the art clinical practice. \nFormat Descriptions \nPostgraduate Teaching Programme (PGT)\nThe UEG Week PGT comprises two days of excellent Continuing Medical Education. The programme focuses on the relevance for the clinical day-to-day business and provides profound updates of latest developments in GI and hepatology topics. The interactive session formats include tricky clinical cases\, controversial debates and exciting video cases – a perfect mix for gastroenterologists in training and in practice as well as established GI physicians and general practitioners. The PGT follows a 3-year curriculum\, based on recommendations of the EBGH Blue Book. Find out more \nOpening Session\nThe Opening Session is held on Monday morning and includes official speeches and the opening of the core scientific programme with a mixture of invited speakers and presentations of the best submitted abstracts.UEG awards the UEG Research Prize\, the UEG Lifetime Achievement Award and the UEG Journal Best Paper Award at the Opening Session. \nSymposium\nInterdisciplinary symposia cover new approaches to diagnosis and treatment\, and place major emphasis on innovative\, technical advances in the non-invasive management of gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders and translational/basic science\, including state-of-the-art lectures. \nCrash Course\nThis year’s newly introduced Crash Courses offer the ideal setting for clinicians to get a complete update on a common\, distinct topic of their daily clinical routine. All essential aspects are covered in these practically focused sessions\, where clinical cases and best practice examples will contribute to its relevance for the clinical practice. The moderated Crash Courses are particularly interactive – the audience is invited to contribute with their comments and questions and to discuss openly with the chairs\, speakers and the other auditors. \nCase-based Discussion\nFor each of these sessions we have invited four experts who will discuss a common clinical situation based on a case presentation. There is no pre-booking required but come early as there are limited seats which will be filled on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nTranslational / Basic Science Pathway\nThese sessions include topics that will potentially affect clinical practice within the near future\, thereby being attractive for both basic/translational scientists and clinicians. \nToday’s Science; Tomorrow’s Medicine\nTop class scientists have been invited to discuss how the current stage of knowledge is ready to be used in clinical practice\, and to establish strategies to foster further progression of knowledge in this area. The Today’s Science;Tomorrow’s Medicine symposium is a combination of both\, invited sessions featuring the world’s top scientists and free paper sessions where work is presented by young and established researchers. \nAdvances in Clinical GI and Hepatology\nA clinically oriented one-day symposium within the meeting\, focusing on an area where substantial progress has been made. \nUEG Week Hotspot\nWhere the most controversial sessions\, hottest debates and interactive abstract discussions will take place. Breaking news will be launched together with the clinical trials revisited sessions\, where the latest results from recent large clinical trials will be presented and discussed by experienced investigators. \nLive Endoscopy\nTop international experts demonstrate cutting-edge techniques alongside basic procedures transmitted directly to the auditorium. The use of multiple parallel cases and experienced chairs ensure interactive learning without unnecessary gaps. \nVideo Case Session\nDuring this session short videos showing examples of new\, unexpected\, or exceptional endoscopic practice are presented and briefly discussed. Thus\, the Video Case Session presents unusual cases or new technologies based on diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. \nAbstract-based Session\nThe most important feature of UEG Week is the science and this is recognised in the core programme with a large number of Abstract-based Sessions devoted to original research\, and an impressive number of Mixed Sessions where invited talks and free paper presentations alternate. Both of these sessions allow lively discussions about the best original research submitted to UEG Week and this is your opportunity to hear about GI and liver research in Europe and worldwide before it is published. \nScientific Centre\nA place where all possibilities to present an abstract are featuring the UEG Week Hotspot\, the E-Poster Terminals as well as the poster exhibition. \nPoster Exhibition / E-Poster\nPoster Sessions feature a very spacious room layout and poster format. Printed posters are displayed and changed daily. The discussion of clinical cases during daily poster sessions offer the presenters relevant discussions of difficult clinical problems.\nE-Posters allow all poster presenters to include interactive media files\, such as radiology images\, endoscopy videos\, etc. and to show a video together with the E-Poster. E-Posters are accessible on the poster terminals from Monday until Wednesday. \nPoster Champ Session\n2-minutes presentations of the highest scoring posters will be given at the E-Poster terminals in the poster exhibition\, followed by 3-minutes Q&As from the chairs. DESCRIPTION:Welcome words \nDear colleagues\, \nThe goals of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) have always been underpinned by the fundamental aims of increasing quality of care\, establishing guidelines for best practice and developing educational programmes. These aims led to the development of the first ever ESGE Days which took place last year in Budapest. \nESGE Days 2018 was a success\, bringing together physicians and renowned experts from across Europe and further afield. The great turn-out in Budapest highlighted the need of such congress. \nBuilding on the innovative ESGE Days programme developed for our first congress\, we are very pleased to invite you to join us in Prague for ESGE Days 2019. \nIn Prague\, we aim to cater to the needs of the entire endoscopy team. The success of an endoscopy unit is reliant on numerous people working together towards a common goal.
